VISIONS Program Overview

The VISIONS Program (Vocational, Instructional, and Supported Industrial Opportunities with Natural Supports) is dedicated to providing comprehensive Supported Employment services for individuals aged 22 and older through the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). This program is designed to empower participants by facilitating meaningful community work placements and fostering vocational development.

Program Features:

  • Supported Employment Services: VISIONS assists individuals in securing and maintaining employment in local industries, offering tailored support that aligns with each participant’s unique skills and aspirations. The program emphasizes both individual and group-supported work training, allowing participants to thrive in diverse work environments.
  • Vocational Counseling: Participants receive personalized vocational counseling, which includes assessments like vocational interest surveys to identify their strengths and preferences. This guidance helps individuals make informed decisions about their career paths and work placements.
  • Vocational Training: The VISIONS Program provides hands-on vocational training, equipping participants with the necessary skills to succeed in various job roles. This training is crucial for building confidence and enhancing employability in the competitive job market.
  • Social Experiences: In addition to vocational support, the program promotes community access and engagement, offering participants opportunities to develop social skills and foster relationships in real-world settings. Key Services:

  1. Employment Services: VISIONS delivers robust employment services through individual and group-supported work training. This includes vocational counseling and job development, ensuring that participants are well-prepared for their roles in the workplace. The program is staffed by dedicated on-site job trainers, training assistants, and a credentialed counselor who provides ongoing support and mentorship.
  2. Community-Based Day Supports (CBDS): The VISIONS Program also offers Community-Based Day Supports, which aim to enrich participants’ lives through a wide range of community activities. These supports help individuals develop, enhance, and maintain competencies in personal, social, and community activities. Participants are encouraged to engage in meaningful experiences that promote independence and community involvement.
