The EPIC (Educational Program for Intensive Care) serves students with multiple disabilities by providing an integrated, supportive environment tailored to their unique educational, communication, motor, and medical needs. The program emphasizes small classroom settings with a high staff-to-student ratio and includes nursing oversight. Adaptive supports and assistive technology enhance learning and student independence.
EPIC offers specialized environments, including a vision enhancement classroom for students with cortical visual impairment. Highly visual accommodations support interaction with both school and community settings. Teachers align the curriculum with Massachusetts Curriculum Standards, integrating special education accommodations based on each student’s education plan (IEP). High school students in EPIC participate in community-based learning experiences throughout Merrimac Valley, MA.
