EPIC’s goal is to provide all students with a variety of opportunities to access their education in supportive environments throughout their school day. The program was created to serve the educational needs of students with multiple disabilities who require an intensive, integrated service environment that addresses their academic, communication, motor skill development, and medical needs. Multiple adaptive supports and assistive technology are used to enhance learning. Students referred to this program require a small classroom environment with a high staff-to-student ratio and nursing oversight. A vision enhancement classroom supports those students identified with cortical visual impairment. Using specialized environments and highly visual accommodations, this classroom supports student independence and interaction with school and community environments. EPIC teachers create access and entry to the Massachusetts Curriculum Standards by infusing special education accommodations along with the use of unique learning curriculums, guided by each student’s individual education plan. EPIC’s secondary high school students participate in community-based curriculum experiences throughout the greater Methuen, MA area.Contact Information~
