Essex Lower

The Essex Academy Lower School Program is a therapeutic program that uses the principles of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, positive behavioral interventions, restorative practices, and trauma-informed care. The program provides explicit social skills and coping skill instruction through whole group and small group lessons and during supported interactions with staff throughout the school day. Counseling and behavioral services are provided to students on an as-needed basis. Students continually have access to the program Clinician and BCBA to also support coping and social skill development.
