Supporting the Growth of Instructional Assistants
Instructional Assistants play a very important role in the lives of students with disabilities. This program provides a training opportunity for these staff members to become more effective in their diverse roles.
Each session consists of a two-hour training led by professionals with expertise in each specific area. The sessions involve theory, case studies, and demonstrations designed for new staff members and veterans who may be working with a new population. Each interactive session will allow for opportunities to problem solve current challenges and be ready to apply practical strategies in their daily work.
The certification program requires a minimum of eight modules (five core sessions and three optional choices) and sixteen hours of training. Participants can choose which eight modules are most relevant to their roles, complete all eleven modules, or choose individual sessions that meet their current needs.
The cost of the certification program is $350 for member districts and $450 for non-members for either eight or eleven sessions. Individual sessions are priced at $75/per session for member districts and $100/per session for non-member districts.
Core sessions will run on Mondays from 4:00-6:00, at CREST 9 Branch Street, Methuen, MA. Register now for space in this cohort. Enrollment is limited to 25 participants. Questions regarding the program can be directed to Cyndie Femino at 978-685-3000 ext 1110 or by email.
